Natural resources for sustainability transitions
In northern Sweden there is ore, forest, and water. Natural resources needed for an industrial transition. But this is also where conflicts of interest linked to extraction are brought to a head. Our research takes a holistic approach to these challenges – with knowledge that creates attractive and sustainable environments for people to live in.
Learning
We collaborate with schools, municipalities, the region, and Teach for Sweden – a foundation where we collaborate in the education of special complementary pedagogical training, as the only higher education institution in Sweden.
Health
The research spans from directly applicable health promotion measures for children to basic research on cancer. Solutions to important societal health issues are being researched, such as an aging population, stress, the significance of nature for health, and digital solutions.
Art
The Acusticum organ is one of Sweden’s largest concert hall organs and it can be played from anywhere in the world. The Theatre Academy is the only theatre academy in Sweden located adjacent to a professional theatre.
