Established in 2006, Welsh Higher Education Brussels (Addysg Uwch Cymru Brwsel) promotes the interests of all eight Welsh universities in Europe; encourages collaboration between researchers and other potential partners; facilitate stronger relationships between Welsh universities, European organisations and regional partners across Europe; and provides information to Welsh universities on European developments and opportunities.
WHEB is interested in the Horizon Europe programme with particular interests in the areas of health, low carbon and energy, advanced manufacturing, lifesciences, the bioeconomy, climate change adaptation and marine/water.
WHEB is interested in international education mobility including the international co-operation dimensions of the Erasmus+ programme and alignment with the Welsh international mobility programme.
WHEB is interested in regional policies and programmes including Interreg and the links between regional/cohesion policy and research and innovation.
WHEB has relationships with a number of other regional Brussels offices and has organised or provided input to a number of collaborative events highlighting university activities in education and research.
